Admission Requirements

22 ACT, 1540 SAT, or 2.5 GPA, or rank in the top half of class; AND meet college preparatory requirements: 4 years English, 3 years math, 3 years social studies, 2 years lab science, 2 electives (minimum Math 18 ACT / 440 SAT and 7 ACT writing subscore / 440 SAT writing score required for 4 year programs).

Scholarship Requirements

New Student Scholarships (usually ranging from
$300-$2,000) are awarded on the basis of academic merit; however, merit and financial need are criteria for some scholarships. Priority deadline of February 1.

Montana Resident Scholarships

Montana Western awards up to five Chancellors Leadership Scholars Awards each year to Montana residents. These are renewable full tuition scholarships.

Each academic departments has the ability to award tuition waiver scholarships to first year students based on merit and academic pursuit.

Nonresident Scholarships

Montana Western participates in the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Scholarship. To be eligible students must be a resident of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington or Wyoming. The priority deadline for the WUE Scholarship is July 1.

Every fall, the Montan Post Secondary Educational Opportunites Council (MPSEOC) hosts 19 college fairs throughout Montana. The fairs feature between 65-95 colleges, universities, technical schools, military branches and other agencies from both in state and out-of-state.
