Admissions:

Admission Requirements

Turn in Application for Admission either online or mail/fax/drop it off at the office. The application can be found at www.cte.umt.edu/apply

After turning in the application you will want to turn in the following (if applicable):
-HS Transcript or GED Scores (if you have less than 12 transferable college credits)
-Official College Transcripts (from all previously attended colleges)
-Immunization Records (records of 2 MMR vaccinations)
-Writing Placement Score (ACT Writing, SAT Essay, Montana University System Writing Assessment, COMPASS, or COMPASS E-Write; the COMPASS E-Write is offered at the COT to students needing to fulfill this requirement)
-Math Placement Score (ACT, SAT, or ALEKS; the ALEKS is offered to student needing to fulfill this requirement)

Financial Aid:

Financial Aid Requirements

Approximately 85% of The University of Montana College of Technology students receive some kind of financial aid. Financial Aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. call 406.243.7886.

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Visit http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ for the application. The University of Montana College of Technology School code is the same as for The University of Montana, 002536.

Scholarship Requirements

DEADLINE: December 31st: Presidential Leadership Scholarship: UM's premier academic scholarship based on merit. All students will be evauluated for scholarships based on information on application, no extra form to fill out. Application needs to be fully submitted by December 31st.

  • COT Students can join any of the 150+ clubs offered at The University of Montana

Every fall, the Montan Post Secondary Educational Opportunites Council (MPSEOC) hosts 19 college fairs throughout Montana. The fairs feature between 65-95 colleges, universities, technical schools, military branches and other agencies from both in state and out-of-state.
